Are you a trans, non-binary or gender non-confirming individual? Do you sometimes feel uncomfortable looking for clothes? Maybe you haven't managed to get any gender affirming clothes yet. Isle of Wight Pride has worked with Mountbatten to create a special event: Try Or Buy. The Newport branch of the charity shop will open specifically for you on Friday 1st March from 5.30 - 8.30pm.

There, you will have a full range of clothing to explore and try on in a safe and inclusive environment. There will be people on hand to offer advice about how to dress for your shape. style or look. There is no pressure to buy but, if you wish to, you may purchase anything you like. There is also a special offer: fill a bag for £10.

This event is designed for newly out or gender questioning folk as well as any who wish to shop in a more relaxed and supportive environment.

This will be a free entry event. There will be buckets if you wish to make a donation. Light refreshments will also be available. There will be representatives from IW Pride too so that you can meet them, have a chat or even get involved if you wish.
