Q: Travelling by train?
A: The closest train stations to the event are Portsmouth Harbour for Wightlink, Portsmouth & Southsea for Hovertravel, Southampton Central for Red Funnel and the Ryde Esplanade or Ryde St Johns (with parking) if travelling from the Island.
Q: Are there any cross Solent discounts for IW Pride?
A: All of the Cross Solent providers are offering discounts in advance through their own websites. Full details of these can be found on the front page of this website.
Q: Travelling by bus?
A: Take a bus to Ryde Esplanade bus station. From there our event site is a two minute walk, just down the road. For further information please visit http://www.islandbuses.info/
If Travelling from Cowes, please get the Number 1 to Newport and then a Number 9 to Ryde. When you board, ask for a ticket to Ryde (pardon the pun!) this will be a through ticket you will need to keep to board the number 9. Both buses run every ten minutes throughout the day.
If travelling from East Cowes buses run once an hour direct to Ryde.
Q: Are there taxis on site?
A: There will be a number taxi companies with pick up points located on the periphery of the event site; there is taxis rank located just opposite the Bus Station and The Esplanade Hotel. Unfortunately there is no Uber…….yet!
Q: What time are taxi pick up points operational?
A: The Taxi pick up points will be available to use 24 hours a day and throughout the weekend.
Q: Where can I park?
A: Long Stay Car Parks
Long stay car parks are located in all towns on the Island and payment can be made for periods of between 30 minutes up to 10 chargeable hours. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket machine or alternatively payment can be made using the PayByPhone system. Instructions and location numbers are displayed on the ticket machines.
Should extended periods be required, payment should be made using the PaybyPhone system.
Short Stay Car Parks
Short stay car parks are located near to town centres and tickets can be purchased for periods of between 30 minutes up to the maximum stay which is three hours. Regardless of how short a period you stay within the car park, as soon as you leave the area, return is then prohibited for a further three hours.
Tickets can be purchased from the ticket machine or alternatively payment can be made using the PayByPhone system. Instructions and location numbers are displayed on the ticket machines.

Q: What is the site post code?
A: Parade Site: Ryde School, 7 Queen's Rd, Ryde PO33 3BE

Q: Where should I get dropped off?
A: For the parade site, drop off is recommended outside of Ryde School ( see details above)
For the main Arena and Village, there are no recommended drop off sites however if you require ease of access to the main site with no hills the drop off is recommended at the Esplanade as this is a flat walk.
The event is now SOLD OUT there will be no general admission wristbands available on the day!
Q: How do I get my Pride Wrist Bands?
A: We have kept it nice and simple. If you already have your Printed or e-tickets available, you simply have to go to our Wrist Band Exchange located at the site entrance, show them your printed or electronic tickets they will check your reference number off. They'll then swap your ticket for a Wrist Band. If you are over 18 and look younger than 25 you will be asked for ID to receive an adult wristband. if you cannot prove your age a child wrist band will be provided. ID will also be checked on the bar.
Q: Where do I get my VIP tickets?

A: Don't worry! please email firstname.lastname@example.org to check to see if we have your registration as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Q: What date does IW Pride take place?
A: IW Pride 2017 takes places on Saturday 15th July 2017
Q: What is the theme?
A: There is no theme for IW Pride, we do however embrace the ethos of #Lovewins, if you wish to dress up then your interpretations of this will always be welcomed on the day.
Q: When are the event opening and closing times?
A: The Parade will start from Ryde School at 11am. The Pride site will be open from around 11.30am the event will end promptly at 7.30pm and the site will be closed by 8pm. The Official Pride After Party starts at the Balcony from 8pm
Q: What times are the acts performing?
A: Check out our Lineup page in the Free Pride Guide for the approx stage times and running orders for the main stage. For the Garden and Community stage please check details on the day.
Q: What time do we have to leave the event site?
A: The main Arena and pride event site must be vacated no later than 8pm.
Q: Where are the toilets located?
A: There are various toilets located throughout the pride Site, please speak to one of our Stewards/Security staff.
Q: Where is the Medical Area located?
A: If you're feeling unwell or hurt yourself, speak to the nearest steward or head to the Youth Trust Welfare tent located on the beach and you will be very well looked after.
Q: Is there a Lost Property area?
A: If you have lost a personal item speak to one of our steward who will point you to the welfare tend here you can leave your details and you will be contacted should the item be handed in. If you have found an item please hand to your nearest steward who will record this for you.
Q: Is there an area for lost children?
A: All of our security are stewards are briefed on the correct procedure for lost or found children so if your child is lost or if you see a lost child, please contact the nearest steward.
Q: Are pets allowed on site?
A: Pets aren't permitted to access the Event Site but Assistance Dogs are allowed into the sites.
Q: What food will be available?
A: There are food concessions across the site including vegetarian and vegan options please be sure to have a look around and see what takes your fancy, maybe try something new!
Q: Can I bring my own alcohol?
A: Unfortunately not ! We will be requesting to check the bags of all guests entering the Event Site. We want to keep all our visitors safe so we'll be checking for any prohibited items which includes glass bottles. Please finish your drinks before you arrive as they'll be plenty of bars on site.
Q: Where can I buy Official Pride Guide?
A: You don’t have to buy a Pride guide they are given out free at the site entrance, however a small donation is recommended and gratefully received to ensure IW Pride is an Island feature for years to come.
Q: Where are the closest ATM machines?
A: There are free cash machines located at Ryde Esplanade Train station. Next to the bus station and also the Sainsbury's on Union Street, Halfway up the hill on the left hand side.
Q: Are we allowed to film the event?
A: Most definitely! Use your phone on your camera and share your memories with us by using the hashtag #lovewins. Or Tweet @iwpride and share on Facebook /iwpride.
Q: Are we allowed to bring selfie sticks into the arenas?
A: Absolutely, take as may selfies as you like, just be mindful of those that are around you and make sure it is safe to do so. Make sure you post with the hashtag #Lovewins.
Q: Do you have to pay to get into the bars on the arena site?
A: The only bar that is chargeable is the VIP bar which you will need to book in advance and have a wristband to enter. All other bars are free to access if you are an Adult with an Adult wrist band.
Q: How do I make a complaint?
A: To make a complaint during IWPride, simply find a member of staff or security. Or You can use your electronic devises to email info@iwpride or Twitter and Facebook @iwpride and we will try and resolve your issue as quickly as possible.
Q: Are there any provisions for wheelchair access?
A: If you are attending the parade there have been provisions made for you to travel on our pride bus so you wont miss a thing and you will be pride of place throughout the route. This will be located outside of Ryde School (see Above) ask a steward if you cant find an we will assist you on board.
If you are attending the Pride village and Arena you can access the site via the main entrance.
Q: Will there be an accessible viewing area and where will it be located?
A: The Accessible Viewing area is located in the Main Stage Arena. The Accessible Viewing area will have limited capacities and are provided on a first-come- first served bases. Once capacities are reached, access will be provided on a 1 in 1 out basis. As with all visitors, if there is a certain act or artist you would like to see, please arrive early enough before each performance time to avoid disappointment.
Q: Where are the Accessible Toilets located?
A: We will accessible toilets throughout IW Pride Event Site. The Accessible Viewing Platform will have a dedicated Accessible Toilet close by and a steward will be close by.

Q: Can I bring anything onto the site with me?
A: Small bags and bottles of water are allowed, but please remember the usual security guidelines when bringing a bag on site. no glass bottles, no alcohol, no drugs and definitely no weapons. We only welcome love on this site! xx
Q. Will there be queues to get in on site?
We are working closely with all security services, in the light of Manchester and London, we will be working to make our event as safe as possible. Please try and avoid bringing bags as this can slow down the entrance process. Please bare with us and be patient as you enter the site.
Q. Do I need a ticket?
YES, you will need to purchase a ticket for this fantastic event. There is a huge line up of comedy and drag as well as DJ sets from Alex Baker ( Gaydio,Revenge, Juice 107.2), Tony Walton (The Waltons), Craig Jones (Heaven & G-A-Y)and of course a full 90 min set from The Freemasons. Q. Do I need ID?
YES! Everyone will need ID to gain entry. Whether you are 18 or 98, you will require ID. This is due to licensing laws, meaning that your ID will be “club scanned”. If you do not have ID with you in a valid photo format, you will not gain entry.
